Alfa Laval to supply fuel supply systems for four methanol-fuelled boxships

Swedish engineering company Alfa Laval will supply fuel supply systems for four methanol-powered containerships being built by a Chinese shipyard.

The vessels will feature a two-stroke methanol engine from Swiss manufacturer WinGD as its main engine. They will also have a four-stroke methanol engine from Finnish engine maker Wärtsilä for auxiliary support.

Alfa Laval’s fuel supply system - FCM Methanol - will supply fuel to both engines.

The methanol-fuelled vessels are being built for an undisclosed Chinese shipowner.

Alfa Laval will start delivering the systems from next year.
