Amsterdam's oil throughput declined by 16% in 2023

Amsterdam's throughput of oil products declined by 16% to 28.9 million mt in 2023 compared to 2022, the port authority stated.

In its recently released annual report, the port authority attributed the sanctions on Russian oil products as one of the reasons for this decline. EU sanctions on imports of Russian oil products were imposed in February 2023.
