Seaside LNG has a 50% stake in the JAX LNG production facility in Jacksonville, Florida and also owns an LNG bunkering barge through its subsidiary Polaris New Energy. This subsidiary is expanding its barge fleet and expects to receive delivery of a barge vessel by the end of this year.

Arroyo primarily invests in energy and power infrastructure assets in the US. The company did not reveal the size of its investment in Seaside LNG.

“We believe this investment represents a differentiated opportunity for Arroyo to own and operate infrastructure assets that are strategically positioned to help facilitate the global marine industry’s transition from traditional heavy fuel to cleaner LNG, in compliance with IMO 2020,” Arroyo’s managing director Brandon Wax says.

Wax believes that LNG will play a key role in the energy transformation of shipping.
