Artemis Technologies reveals design of 100% electric crew transfer vessel

UK-based maritime technology firm Artemis Technologies has unveiled the design of its fully electric high-speed crew transfer vessel for the offshore wind industry.

The vessel, EF-24 CTV, can run on a top speed of 36 knots with a foiling range of 87 nautical miles, Artemis Technologies said.

The company has developed a high-speed electric foiling boat that nearly flies above water level, which helps in reducing drag.

Artemis Technologies has designed this vessel in collaboration with stakeholders from the offshore wind sector and the UK government’s Department for Transport’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC).

Other partners in this project include UK-based offshore renewable energy research centre ORE Catapult, government body Innovate UK, classification society Lloyd’s Register and crew transfer services provider Tidal Transit.
