The 5,350-dwt vessel, Stellamar, is equipped with battery technology and shore power capabilities.
The vessel will emit “50% less CO2 emissions compared to present generation of vessels,” AtoB@C Shipping claims.
Apart from Stellamar, there are five other plug-in hybrid vessels at various stages of construction at the shipyard. These include Electramar - which was launched in June and is nearing completion, Ecomar, Terramar and Maximar.
Electramar is expected to be delivered in autumn this year, followed by a new vessel every three months. The final delivery is anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.
