Danish shipping firm A.P. Moller-Maersk has agreed to source liquefied biomethane (LBM) from bunker supplier Avenir LNG’s subsidiary, Avenir Marine.

The companies signed an initial framework fuel supply agreement in the second half of 2025, Avenir Marine said, adding that the first volumes are expected to be delivered in 2027.
“The first deliveries will be in alignment with the delivery of the first dual-fuel liquefied gas vessels entering Maersk’s time-chartered fleet,” the company added.
Maersk has ordered at least 33 LNG-capable vessels for delivery by 2030, with the first four scheduled to be delivered this year.
