In December last year, Enova announced a grant of 442 million Norwegian Kroner ($46 million) to Azane for developing three ammonia bunker terminals along the Norwegian coast.

The penalty commitment has been included to increase confidence that the projects will be delivered, Enova said.

The three bunker stations will be located at Florø, Risavika and Mongstad and will each have a capacity of 2,000 cbm of refrigerated ammonia and a bunkering rate of more than 100 mt/hour, Enova said in December.

The facilities are expected to be operational by 2029, subject to a final investment decision, and will supply both international and coastal ammonia-powered ships.
