Bibby Marine’s new vessel to feature methanol dual-fuel engine
UK-based offshore vessel operator Bibby Marine has signed a new shipbuilding contract with Spain’s Armon shipyard to build a commissioning service operation vessel, with a methanol dual-fuel engine.

A commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) is specifically designed to meet the commissioning, maintenance and operational requirements of the offshore wind industry.
The vessel will also feature a battery system to support propulsion.
Bibby Marine and Madrid-based marine consultancy firm Seaplace are jointly working on the vessel design, based on original concept design completed by marine technology firm Longitude Engineering.
