Strong wind gusts of 43 knots are forecast for today, due to which all operations have been suspended, the port agent said. Operations were briefly suspended on Monday. Rough weather was reported in the port for most of last week, and operations were suspended in periods between Wednesday and Thursday last week.
The Gibraltar Port Authority has also issued a heavy rain and gale force wind warning, valid until Friday.
No service boats will be allowed in the east anchorage or the Outer Port Limits. Vessels currently at the anchorage have been asked to depart, MH Bland said.
Nine vessels are waiting for bunkers, unchanged from yesterday, MH Bland said.
Meanwhile, in Algeciras, bunkering operations are still suspended at the Delta anchorage, while bunker operations are allowed at the inner anchorage, MH Bland said. All suppliers are reporting delays of 2-12 hours.
