One out of two bunker suppliers in the port is experiencing delays of 4-5 hours today, unchanged from yesterday, said shipping agent Jose Salama & Co.

Dredging work is being carried out in the port area, which is impacting bunker operations, the shipping agent told ENGINE. These dredging operations are impacting the west side of the port, where a supplier’s terminal is located, causing bunker loading delays, the shipping agent explained.

These dredging operations are aimed at increasing vessel draft limits in certain areas of the port. And are expected to ease from today onward.

Slight congestion has been reported in Ceuta today, where two vessels are waiting for berthing, according to the shipping agent. Additionally, ten vessels are due to arrive for bunkers in Ceuta today, up from nine yesterday.
