The container vessel, COSCO NETHERLANDS, was bunkered with around 4,300 mt of B24-HSFO in Hong Kong on Monday. The container vessel is operated by the Chinese shipping and transport firm COSCO Ship Holdings (COSCO).
The B24 blend contained 24% biofuel derived from used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME) and 76% HSFO. The biofuel is International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC)-EU-certified.
CPN claims that it has supplied biofuels to more than ten ocean-going vessels since 2021.
In January, the bunker supplier delivered a B24-VLSFO biofuel blend to Japanese shipping firm NS United Kaiun Kaisha’s bulk carrier in Hong Kong.
