February 25, 2022

The two methanol fuel tanks will have a combined capacity to hold 11,000 cbm of fuel, which classification society DNV says can meet fuel requirements of a vessel's main engine, auxiliary engine and boiler for an entire voyage.

The vessel design is jointly developed by Chinese shipping company COSCO and CSSC’s Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), and based on a 310,000 dwt VLCC.

Classification societies China Classification Society and DNV have issued separate approvals in principle of the design.
