The vessels will be able to run on LPG or conventional marine fuels. The four 40,000 cbm-capacity carriers will be fully capable of carrying ammonia and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in addition to LPG.

CIMC SOE has not disclosed any details about the European buyer. The vessels are expected to be delivered in 2028.

In August last year, Norwegian gas company Avance Gas exercised an option with CIMC SOE to add two more dual-fuel mid-sized gas carriers (MGCs), taking its MGC order tally to four.
