Classification societies greenlight five Deltamarin vessel designs
DNV and Lloyd’s Register issued approvals in principle to Finnish ship designer Deltamarin for five of its vessel designs, including an LNG bunker vessel and a wind-assisted ethylene carrier.

The LNG bunkering vessel will feature a 20,000-cbm tank capacity and be capable of supplying to larger vessels.
The 9,500-cbm liquefied ethylene gas carrier will be powered by a combination of hybrid diesel-electric and wind-assisted propulsion.
The AiPs also cover an 8,000-TEU methanol-ready container vessel, although Deltamarin has not disclosed the specific level of methanol readiness.
Methanol-ready means that a vessel will not be capable of running on methanol when delivered. It will have the option to be retrofitted for methanol propulsion in the future but will typically operate on conventional fuels until that conversion is carried out.
