Strong winds and low temperatures last week caused low wind chills in the Houston-Galveston region, the US Coast Guard said in its latest status report. It forecast freezing temperatures will return in the coming days.
The Houston Ship Channel is a key waterway for vessels coming in and out of ports in the Houston area, including Houston, Galveston, Baytown and Texas City.
