Congestion builds as Houston Ship Channel remains shut

Fog and reduced visibility led the channel to shut in both direction last night local time, preventing vessels from entering and departing ports in the Houston area.

Vessel congestion has grown to 27 vessel waiting inbound, 22 sailing and three shifting vessels pending now, port agent Norton Lilly says.
