There are currently 14 vessels waiting to enter the channel inbound, 11 vessels waiting outbound and one shifting vessel pending, Norton Lilly says.
The channel is a key waterway for vessels coming in and out of ports in the Houston area, including Galveston, Baytown and Texas City.
There is a moderate to high risk of reduced visibility from fog forecast today and tomorrow, a low to moderate risk on Wednesday, and a low risk for the rest of the week from Thursday.
