January 12, 2026

Strong winds of more than 30 knots and waves above 2.5 metres brought all traffic to a halt starting Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.

While operations have now resumed, supply backlogs are expected to take one to two days to clear, a local supplier said.

Snowfall has also begun in Istanbul, raising the risk of further disruptions due to low visibility, the supplier added.
