Container ship MSC Elaine has been refloated

The container ship MSC Elaine has been refloated after being stranded for a day in the Italian port of Gioia Tauro.

Five tugboats and port authority personell worked through last night to release the 346-metre-long ship. The ship will go through further damage checks by the port authority, and the ship's classification agency DNV, before resuming full operation.

The Port Authority of Gioia Tauro has also launched an investigation to trace the causes of the accident.
