Deltamarin and ECOLOG reveal design of new LCO2 carrier

Deltamarin and ECOLOG have collaborated on a short-range, low-pressure, and shallow-draft liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) carrier design.

The vessel, designed by Greek carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) company ECOLOG and Finnish ship designer Deltamarin, will transport LCO2 within the European Union (EU).

“LNG DF [LNG dual-fuel] propulsion, shore power, and wind assistance are integrated into the design,” of the LCO2 carrier, Deltamarin said.

Last month, classification society ABS awarded ECOLOG an approval certification to operate LCO2 carriers.
