CORRECTION: E-fuels must take priority, SASHA Coalition tells the EU
The SASHA Coalition urges policymakers to prioritise e-fuels over biofuels and fossil fuels.

Corrections: The SASHA Coalition is not a non-profit, but is facilitated by non-profit Opportunity Green. The coalition does not support e-methane, only e-ammonia and e-methanol. The reference to Finnish e-methane production plants has been removed.
The coalition argues that e-fuels such as e-ammonia and e-methanol present the most viable pathways to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the shipping industry.
“With ReFuelEU Aviation and FuelEU Maritime targets on the horizon, 2025 is the year in which e-fuel projects must get the investment they need to scale production,” the coalition said in a statement.
E-fuels such as e-ammonia and e-methanol are produced from green hydrogen generated from renewable electricity.
“Competitiveness is using e-fuels in aviation and shipping,” said Aoife O’Leary, head of non-profit Opportunity Green.
“It is not importing fraudulent biomass or LNG,” she added.
