Axpo will deploy the vessel for physical bunker deliveries along the southern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, the supplier said.

The 12,500 cbm-capacity Alisios LNG is owned by Spanish energy firm Enagás through its subsidiary Scale Green Energy and has been chartered by Axpo for commercial operations.
Axpo currently offers LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM) deliveries across the wider Iberian Peninsula, including ports in Spain and Italy. The addition of the vessel will strengthen its bunkering capacity in the Mediterranean, the company said.
Enagás operates seven regasification plants in Spain, all of which are capable of conducting terminal-to-ship bunkering operations. Facilities in Barcelona, Cartagena, Huelva and Gijón have already supplied LBM to ships.
“The commissioning of the 'Alisios LNG' will allow us to respond to the increased demand for alternative fuels in the sector, at a time marked by new European regulations that require a progressive reduction of emissions associated with maritime transport,” Enagás said.
