Each vessel, with a capacity of 92,500 dwt, will be able to operate on both ammonia and conventional marine fuels. The ships will be designed by South Korea’s KMS-EMEC and classed by DNV.
Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for October 2029, with the remaining ships set to follow at four-month intervals. Further details, including their intended deployment, have not been disclosed.
This project will mark the first construction of ammonia dual-fuel vessels in India, according to SDHI.
