Erik Thun orders dual-fuel tanker

Swedish shipping company Erik Thun has signed a contract with Chinese Jinling Shipyard for a 18,000 dwt tanker that can run on LNG and liquified biogas.

Erik Thun expects to take delivery of the vessel by 2024, and to operate a total of 15 dual-fuel tankers by then.

The vessel will be equipped with a battery to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Erik Thun intends to operate 15 dual fuel tankers by 2024.
