Earlier this year, Euronav ordered two ammonia dual-fuel VLCC from Qingdao Beihai. With this order, the Belgian shipping company has taken its ammonia dual-fuel VLCC tally to three.

All these vessels will be equipped with a dual-fuel diesel-ammonia engine that can run on both ammonia and diesel.

All three vessels are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Simultaneously, Euronav has also ordered two Suezmax tankers from South Korean shipbuilder Daehan Shipbuilding. These vessels will be powered by conventional marine fuels. Both vessels are anticipated to be delivered in April/May 2026 and will be chartered out to US-based petroleum company Valero on long-term contracts.
