The LNG carrier will feature Everllence’s LNG dual-fuel and electric propulsion system, enabling it to operate on LNG, conventional fuel oil and electric power.
The companies aim to improve the vessel’s efficiency and emissions performance as the shipping industry faces increasingly stringent IMO carbon-intensity requirements.
However, they have not disclosed further details, including the vessel’s delivery timeline or intended deployment.
Everllence and Hudong-Zhonghua have previously collaborated on the delivery of 10 conventional dual-fuel diesel-electric LNG carriers.
