A FAT is a quality assurance process in which newly built equipment is rigorously tested at the manufacturer’s facility to confirm it meets all specifications and is ready for installation and operation.

The ammonia dual-fuel engine has been built by licensee Engine & Machinery of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI-EMD) in South Korea. It will be installed on a vessel for Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), currently under construction at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The very large ammonia carriers (VLACs) being built at the yard - scheduled for first delivery from October 2026 - will be the world’s first to be equipped with Everllence’s ammonia dual-fuel engine, the company said.

Everllence also plans to launch retrofit options for this engine.
