Strike action by dockworkers at the Port of Felixstowe ended yesterday after workers voted to accept a revised pay offer from the port operator Hutchison Ports.

Striking workers, represented by Unite union, have secured an 8.5% pay hike along with a bonus of £1,000 ($1,062) effective from January next year.

Around 2,000 port workers at Felixstowe port took strike action between August and October after hitting an impasse with their management over pay hikes.

Meanwhile, the Unite union is negotiating to get some of its members back at work who were dismissed from service during the strike action.
