First STS LNG bunkering completed in Civitavecchia
A dual-fuel cruise ship operated by Monaco-headquartered Silversea Cruises has been bunkered with LNG in a ship-to-ship (STS) operation at the Italian Port of Civitavecchia.

The 750-cbm (335 mt) LNG stem was supplied to Silversea's cruise ship Silver Ray by the LNG bunker vessel Green Pearl, which is chartered by bunker supplier Axpo.
The operation marks the port's first LNG bunkering operation since the authority adopted an LNG bunkering regulatory framework in May, establishing safety requirements and procedures for STS operations.
The operation expands services available to dual-fuel vessels and reinforces Civitavecchia's position as a Mediterranean cruise hub, the port authority said.
