FIS: Fuel Oil Daily Evening Report

Engine manufacturer Alfa Laval has been granted an approval to begin testing ammonia as a bunker fuel from next year. The firm has been at the forefront of similar testing of LNG, biofuels and methanol as marine fuels.

VLSFO futures spreads have come off today, and massively on the week. There was a $14.50/mt spread between Singapore’s October and November VLSFO contracts on 30 August. The spread settled at $9.75/mt yesterday and narrowed further to $8.25/mt today.

Rotterdam’s HSFO barge crack printed -$26.35/bbl at the UK market close.
