France invites proposals for green shipping grant programme

French government’s Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) will offer financial aid to upcoming low- and zero-carbon shipping projects in France.

The agency has called for project submissions, including those related to alternative fuel propulsion systems and low- and zero-emission marine fuels.

Projects for pure hydrogen, wind-assisted propulsion systems and carbon capture technologies will not qualify.

All vessel types can be funded, as well as technologies and bunkering infrastructure-related projects, ADEME said. It has not yet specified an exact grant amount that will be allocated to the various projects.
