The vessel, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026, will be capable of supplying conventional fuel oil as well as methanol and biofuel blends up to B100 (100% biofuel) to ships.

Methanol-ready means the vessel will not initially be equipped to run on methanol but will have provisions for future installation of methanol fuel tanks and engines.

An IMO Type 2 chemical tanker is designed to transport moderately hazardous chemicals in compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.

Fratelli Cosulich states that this addition brings its total fleet of methanol-ready vessels to four.

However, the company has not yet revealed where the new tanker will be deployed.
