An IMO Type 2 vessel is built to carry moderately hazardous chemicals in accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.
The new tanker, Maya Cosulich, “will be among the first methanol dual-fuel bunker tankers to operate in the Port of Singapore,” according to Fratelli Cosulich.
The vessel is also equipped with onboard battery storage, two mass flow meters (MFMs), and is fully compliant with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) methanol bunkering standards.
Designed by Singapore-headquartered SeaTech Solutions International and constructed by China’s Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard, the Maya Cosulich is scheduled to arrive in Singapore by the end of 2025 and commence operations under a time charter with TFG Marine.
