The LNG bunker supplier delivered an undisclosed amount of fossil LNG to the floating research lab using its bunker vessel, Venosa. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) also provided support during the bunkering operation.
The Seatrium's floating lab conducts research on new sustainable marine technologies, energy production, harbour craft electrification and low-carbon fuelling of ships. It is owned and operated by the Singapore-headquartered Seatrium, which works in the offshore, marine and energy industries.
Meanwhile, Singapore's LNG bunker sales grew by a massive 581% last year, according to MPA data. Around 300 mt/day of LNG was sold in 2023, climbing from just 50 mt/day in 2022.
