The stem was delivered yesterday off Bornholm, Denmark.

LNG appears to be the preferred near-term alternative fuel choice for a lot of container shipowners. Among the 857 LNG-powered vessels registered in classification society DNV's database, 218 are container ships. This is significantly higher than the second -biggest vessel type (116 car carriers) and third-biggest (89 crude oil tankers).

Among other recent LNG-related developments, last month, German shipping company TT Line took delivery of its second dual-fuel LNG RoPax vessel from a shipyard in Nanjing, China. And LNG carrier owner and operator Seapeak has ordered a total of five dual-fuel LNG carriers that will be chartered to an international energy major for 10 years.
