The partnership will assess how Genevos' marine fuel cell systems can help shipowners and shipyards transition to zero-emission operations.

The collaboration comes amid growing demand for easily deployable hydrogen systems and the broader push to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission technologies across the maritime sector.

Koedood Marine is already working with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Dutch independent research organisation TNO on the development of marine hydrogen engines.

The deal “is an important step in exploring how Genevos’ hydrogen fuel cell systems can be deployed more widely across inland and maritime applications, helping shipowners reduce onboard emissions,” Genevos co-founder and chief technology officer Phil Sharp said.
