Golden Island completes first methanol bunkering in Singapore

The Singapore-based bunker supplier delivered a 300-mt methanol stem to a Cargill-chartered bulk carrier.

The fuel was delivered to the vessel, MV Brave Pioneer, by Golden Island’s IMO Type 2 chemical tanker MT Golden Antares.

This marked the first methanol bunkering operation for the supplier as a licensed methanol supplier under the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the company said.

The operation was fully compliant with MPA’s TR 129 methanol bunkering standard, Golden Island added.

The supplier has ordered three more IMO Type II tankers, which are expected to join the Golden Antares bunker vessel this year.
