Bunkering operations were suspended across all anchorages since yesterday morning due to rough weather conditions.

The Chinese bunkering hub has been experiencing bad weather persistently for the past few weeks. This has led to bunker backlogs, with most suppliers recommending 7–10 days for VLSFO, up from 5-8 days last week. HSFO and LSMGO require lead times of 5-7 days.

Meanwhile, a source says the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays from 10-17 February have not spurred demand in Zhoushan, and the port continues to experience sluggish demand. Stems for upcoming deliveries can generally be booked at the port until today, before the holidays are observed.
