Biomethanol bunkering done in Tianjin – China Daily

Chinese bunker supplier Sinopec Fuel Oil Sales has delivered 300 mt of biomethanol to a roll-on/roll-off ship at the Port of Tianjin in North China.

The fuel was supplied to the vessel CM Hong Kong, marking the port’s first biomethanol bunkering, according to state-owned media outlet China Daily.

The biomethanol was produced domestically at a plant in Inner Mongolia using feedstock derived from waste tyres and biomass.

Earlier in July, China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) delivered 500 mt of ISCC-certified green methanol to a COSCO Shipping vessel in Dalian.
