The Grande Shanghai, a 9,000 CEU capacity vessel, is designed to be ammonia-ready. This means the vessel can be converted to run on ammonia fuel in the future through retrofitting but cannot use ammonia immediately upon delivery.
Initially, the vessel is likely to operate on conventional fossil marine fuels.
The company has not revealed additional details about the ship's deployment location or timeline for potential ammonia conversion.
