The 10,850-ton bulk carrier, Guoneng Changjiang 01, can run on methanol and conventional marine fuels. The vessel was constructed by the Chinese shipyard Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry and is classified by the China Classification Society (CCS).
The bulk carrier is “first domestic” methanol dual-fuel inland bulk carrier in China, CCS claims.
It will serve in the Chuanjiang River and Three Gorges Reservoir areas in China, which are part of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
