Hafnia takes delivery of third methanol dual-fuel tanker

Singapore-based tanker company Hafnia has taken delivery of the third of four methanol dual-fuel medium-range tankers being constructed by China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI).

The vessel, Ecomar Garonne, is capable of running on both methanol and conventional marine fuels. This comes after the successful deliveries of the Ecomar Gascogne in January and the Ecomar Guyenne in May.

All three vessels are on long-term time charters with French energy company TotalEnergies.

Hafnia, a subsidiary of the BW Group, and French shipowner Socatra jointly ordered the vessels from GSI in August 2023.
