HD Hyundai's affiliates include HD Hyundai Marine Solution, HD Hyundai Engineering & Technology, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), and Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems.

The project was a joint effort between DNV and the HD Hyundai companies, centered on a 15,000 TEU ultra-large container ship with LNG dual-fuel technology, built by the HD Hyundai Group.

The partnership successfully integrated advanced carbon capture and liquefaction systems developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems and HD KSOE.

In this collaboration, HD Hyundai Marine Solution handled the basic design, HD Hyundai Engineering & Technology managed the 3D modelling and detailed design, and DNV provided verification in line with international regulations and its leading classification rules and guidelines.

The project demonstrates “the potential of OCCS technology as an immediate and practical solution to reduce emissions in shipping,” DNV Korea and Japan’s regional manager Vidar Dolonen said.
