Houston Ship Channel reopens – Norton Lilly

Houston Ship Channel has been reopened to vessel traffic in both directions after fog suspended traffic yesterday, local ship agent Norton Lilly says.

In recent days, rough weather conditions have impacted both inbound and outbound vessel traffic in the channel, resulting in vessel congestion.

There are currently 16 vessels waiting to enter the channel inbound, eight sailing and one shifting vessel pending.

More fog and reduced visibility is expected later this week, which could see the channel open and closed intermittently.
