Houston Ship Channel reopens to all vessel traffic

Vessels can now sail in both directions of Houston Ship Channel, following intermittent disruptions from fog and limited visibility since the start of the week.

The channel is a key waterway for vessels going in and out of ports in the Houston area, including Galveston, Baytown and Texas City.

Nine vessels are held up waiting to pass through the channel inbound and 12 outbound, local agent Norton Lilly says.
