John T. Essberger orders two methanol-capable chemical tankers

German shipping company John T. Essberger has ordered two methanol-capable chemical tankers from Rainbow shipyard in Nantong, China.

The two 13,000-dwt chemical tankers will feature engines capable of running on methanol.

The delivery of the two methanol-capable chemical tankers is scheduled to begin in April 2027. The contract also includes an option for four additional methanol-capable chemical tankers, the company said.
