K Line completes third biofuel trial on bulker

Japan’s Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) bunkered its Capesize bulk carrier with a B24 blend of 76% VLSFO and 24% fatty acid methyl ester (FAME).

BP supplied the biofuel blend, which was consumed during a voyage from Port of Ponta da Madeira in Brazil to the Port of Kawasaki in Japan.

This is the third successful biofuel trial for K Line. GoodFuels supplied biofuel for the company's second trial on a Supramax bulker last August.
