K Line gets two LNG-battery vessel designs approved

Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has received approvals in principle (AIP) from classification society ClassNK for its designs for LNG-fuelled and battery-powered vessels.

K Line has developed one 200,000 mt capesize bulk carrier with Namura Shipbuilding and Taiyo Electric.

A second 90,000 mt post-Panamax bulk carrier was developed with Shin Kurushima Sanoyas Shipbuilding, and Taiyo Electric.
