Each vessel will be capable of carrying around 1,400 vehicles and will be equipped to operate on both LNG and conventional marine fuels.
The newbuildings are intended for K Line’s European subsidiary, K Line European Sea Highway Services (KESS), and are being tailored for short-sea shipping operations in Europe, where they will support the frequent transportation of smaller vehicle consignments.
No additional details, including the vessels’ delivery schedule, have been disclosed by the company.
