Kazakhstan resumes CPC oil exports

Kazakh oil companies have resumed crude exports via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal after the pipeline operator restarted its Black Sea marine terminal yesterday.

Loading operations at the CPC marine terminal were suspended for a week, following repeated Ukrainian drone attacks on tankers operating near the facility.

“The Caspian Pipeline Consortium resumed oil transshipment at the Marine Terminal, with two tankers moored to single point moorings,” the pipeline operator said on social media platform Telegram.

The tankers – Seamajesty and Milos – have loaded crude from the Chevron-led Tengizchevroil project at the Novorossiysk terminal, Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry said in a statement on Telegram.

The 1,510 km Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline is also operational now, CPC said. The pipeline connects Kazakhstan's oil fields to the Russian ⁠Black Sea ​port of Novorossiysk.

Oil loaded at ​Novorossiysk is then taken by tanker to world markets. The CPC accounts for about 80% of ​Kazakhstan’s oil exports, according to Reuters.

“Further cargo operations at the Marine Terminal will be conducted in accordance with the current situation and based on confirmed tanker positions from shippers,” CPC added.

The OPEC+ member’s total oil and gas condensate production declined to 133,200 mt, or about 1 million b/d on Sunday – down from an average of 2.16 million b/d in June, Reuters reported.
